Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Trainer. This role will be Home Based with National travel and will be on a set-term contract for approximately 9 months.

The Trainer will be responsible for delivering Environmental, Health and Safety Training and Development to all levels of management and employees as directed by the Training Team management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivery various training initiatives in line with the course brochure, training needs and gap analysis initiatives or as directed by a member of the training team management.
  • When required design and deliver courses to meet individual and company objectives.
  • Assist in answering enquiries effectively, efficiently, and accurately from local site management teams and employees regarding training activity and or their own personal development.
  • Complete accurately the training course classroom register and return to the training team administrators as required.
  • Produce handouts in a timely manner for training courses where applicable.
  • Record and send out certificates as required.
  • Use the learning management system to track training and development activity.
  • Evaluate training and development programmes on a regular basis to ensure that the courses remain fit for purpose.
  • Help line management and operators solve specific training issues and problems where appropriate.
  • Ensure that equality and diversity is considered in your training delivery and any internal course creation.
  • Ensure that the group expenses policy is adhered to.
  • Ensure that you maintain up-to-date knowledge on the subject areas taught.
  • Carry out other tasks as required by the Training Team line management.

Experience, Essential Knowledge, and Personal Attributes:

  • Experience of delivering Environmental, Health and Safety Training in the Waste and/or Quarrying sectors in person and online.
  • Completion of all other training as defined within the Training Matrix.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook knowledge.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate Qualified.
  • PTLLS or equivalent Qualified.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Assertiveness skills and be able to act on own initiative.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint (essential).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel desirable.
  • Ability support and motivate others.
  • Open and clear communicator.
  • Empathetic to others’ views and needs.
  • Set personal goals and deadlines and plans to deliver effectively
  • Deliver creative and ingenious ideas for change and continuity.
  • Able and willing to stay away from home on regular occasions.
  • Hold a current Driving Licence.
