Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a full-time, permanent Surveyor to join their team in a pleasant rural office in Arlingham, Gloucestershire.
This is a great opportunity to join an established, reputable, growing company working in the private domestic market, delivering quality craftsmanship and service. Working closely within the existing team, the Surveyor will be responsible for the financial management of projects with a value of between £100K and 1.5M. The company’s projects are generally high-end and exclusive one-off builds, providing a turnkey package for their clients, but they can range from simple extensions to totally unique projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working regularly with Architects and Quantity Surveyors (QS).
- Working with the QS, undertaking measuring, and submitting estimates and tenders.
- Producing packages to send out to subcontractors and suppliers for accurate tenders.
- Negotiating orders with sub-contractors and working with the buyer.
- Assisting with pre-construction set up, including H&S, programming, and procuring subcontractors and materials.
- Attend site meetings and visit sites as necessary to produce quotations and valuations etc.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar surveying role/environment.
- Previous experience in the high-end domestic private sector (highly desirable).
- Relevant degree, or equivalent.
- Proficient in reading drawings, specifications, contracts, and programmes.
- Good broad-based construction knowledge and a sound understanding of the domestic construction industry.
- Excellent financial project management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Great customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
