Salary: £ 47 – £ 57K basic plus benefits

Role Overview:

Our client is a well reputed social care provider in the Greater Manchester area. They have the strategic vision and entrepreneurial courage to challenge common convention and actively disrupt their own existing business in pursuit of a more effective and agile operating model.

Due to continued growth plans across Greater Manchester our client is now looking to appoint a dynamic, commercially astute Operations Manager, to assume full responsibility to oversee a portfolio of complex care LD services in supported living environment and business operation on a day-to-day basis.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will already be working for another well-respected, social care provider currently, either within an Operational or Regional Management capacity.

In addition to this, candidates will have a strong operational social care background, having managed a number of care services for service users with Learning Difficulties or Complex Care, and will possess strong leadership and commissioning experience.

The ideal candidate will be a ‘hands on’ team player, who places the service user and staff at the heart of decision making. The successful candidate will have sound commercial acumen, with a proven track-record of managing a large care portfolio and proven track record of business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen and an ability to digest, interpret, understand and present financial data. Experience within the public sector, local authorities and in particular social care service provision.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have proven track record in delivering growth within a business and development of infrastructure to support the growth.

Additionally, you will be/have:

  • A strong commercial acumen, with proven experience negotiating with high level commissioning groups
  • Innovative, enthusiastic and always curious, with an ‘always learning’ mindset
  • Highly capable and mentally dexterous, you thrive in fast paced environments, where the expectation is to operate with a strong sense of urgency to deliver tangible results
  • An entrepreneurial outlook with a “no task too small” attitude; willing to roll up your sleeves but equally comfortable delegating and working as part of a team
  • A decidedly organised “doer” with a bias for action and an exceptional ability to multi-task
  • A proven-track track record of leading a broad range of business operations and functions
  • An understanding of the key marketing requirements in a people orientated, service led, business, and the required strategies and actions necessary to deliver meaningful new business leads
  • A commercial mindset and an ability to credibly demonstrate experience of growing a business or service
  • An understanding and appreciation of the nature of information required to manage and make critical business decisions
  • A strong financial acumen and an ability to digest, interpret, understand and present financial data, coupled with strong analytical skills
  • Experience of building and documenting business plans that are clear, concise
  • An ability to think critically, understand complex situations whilst distilling solutions into easy to communicate plans
  • A methodical, structured, organised and consistent approach to your leadership style, with a can-do attitude and willingness to lead by doing
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, word, excel), and an ability/ willingness to adopt new technologies and processes
