AL532: Receptionist

First Military Recruitment is looking for a Receptionist in the Aldershot area.

The key purpose of this role is to deliver a professional service when operating the leisure facilities and to support the Customer Service Team within the Sports Facilities.

Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform receptionist, cashier and clerical duties, provide a high level of customer service and deal with all complaints/enquiries efficiently.
  • Administer bookings using computerised and manual systems.
  • Work the cash register, accepting payments for activities and the sale of goods within the Sports Centre.
  • Distribute and collect hire equipment, whilst running a deposit system where required.
  • Be responsible for issuing literature and information to the general public and to ensure adequate publicity material is displayed on reception at all times.
  • Be responsible for the workstation and cash register from the start of the shift until cashing up.
  • Record cash register floats and record daily takings for banking.
  • Control and operate the PA, telephone and lighting systems and to assist in the training of other reception staff as necessary.
  • Comply with security requirements, observe safe working practices, Codes of Practice and operating procedures and to ensure the reception area remains tidy and presentable.
  • Carry out the lost property procedure.
  • Carry out other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by senior management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English.
  • Customer Service Qualification.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • High Customer Service Levels.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Organised and methodical.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Experience of working within a Leisure Environment.
  • Good numeracy and literary sills.
  • Previously worked in an office / reception environment.
  • Self-motivated, self-assured with attention to detail.
  • Communicates clearly and uses effective methods to deliver the message.
  • Works effectively with others and maintains constructive relationships within the team, across the business and externally.
  • Commits to putting customers first and delivers high quality service that meets or exceeds expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • The commitment to Safety First – Always and the drive for continual improvement in this area.
  • Understands the right level of quality delivered to enhance customer satisfaction.
