JA1000: Maintenance Engineer (days)
Location: London
Salary: £42,500 +10% Bonus
Shifts: 4 days on / 4 days off – 6am to 6pm
Overview:
To work within a team to provide an Engineering service which ensures the department KPI target of 98% production machinery availability is achieved through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance. To assist by Engineering contribution to the continued growth and development of the site and business.
Key accountabilities:
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to world class standards
- Look at ways to reduce reactive maintenance
- Work with production to plan windows for maintenance requirements
- Ensure all Engineering procedures are adhered to, and all work carried out to relevant legislation and guidelines
- Take ownership of specific areas within the factory creating and completing Improvement projects within them
- Plan required contract work and then supervise and authorise permits for associated contractors
Key area of works:
PRODUCTION SUPPORT
- Work closely with the Production team to ensure Operational delivery
- Minimize time reaction to machinery breakdown
- Improve machinery efficiency by Improvement Projects
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards maintenance solutions
- Proactively promote correct use of equipment

- Maintain a safe clean working environment for all people on site at all times

- To participate in meetings/trials where engineering input is required
QUALITY / TECHNICAL STANDARDS
- Ensure all work is carried out in a documented and controlled manner in line with the company’s technical procedures
- Work closely with the Technical team on the site fabrication requirements
- Proactively look to improve engineering functions to reduce food safety risk
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
- Assist and support the NFD team with trials and equipment solutions where necessary
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience of working in a FMG chilled environment
- Technical understanding of single and 3phase electrical systems and Pneumatic systems
- Experience of Cooking and Chilling process and associated equipment
- Experience of Tray sealing and Packaging equipment
- Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
- Mechanical and electrical certificate (NVQ3 or equivalent)
- Multi- skilled – preferably Electrical or Gas bias
- Food production engineering experience
