EY41 Maintenance Engineer

Location: Sheffield 

Salary: £38,000 per year

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out Mechanical & Electrical repairs and servicing on all plant and equipment. The role is inclusive of reactive and planned maintenance.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs as directed by the by the Production Manager to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Production Manager with annual service planning as and when required.
  • All work to be carried out in line with relevant HSE and regulatory requirements (i.e.18th edition).
  • Electrical Installations to be carried out in line with national standards and relevant test certificates produced.
  • Liaise with and assist specialist contractor’s as and when required on routine and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Carry out period testing on emergency lighting and thermal imaging of distribution boards.
  • Assist specialist contractors during annual servicing as and when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a recognised electrical qualification.
  • Be trained to 18th edition installation requirements.
  • Have completed FLT – MEWP – Ladder – Scaffold training.
  • Competent in Mechanical & Electrical repairs and demonstrate a successful track record in maintenance work.
  • Must be a methodical thinker with an eye for detail.
  • Good communicator with an ability to work as part of a team.
  • Takes initiative, is self-directed.
  • Will seek out answers to required information and make rational decisions.
  • Able to develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development and share expertise and knowledge with others.
  • Well organised with the ability to plan short/long term as well as reacting to immediate issues.
