JM53 – Installation Engineer – Fire & Security Systems
Location: Within 50 mile radius of Wolverhampton
Salary: £Competitive DoE
Overview:
We are recruiting currently for an Installation Engineer who will be responsible for one client with multiple locations across the UK. The successful candidate will be working away for approximately 75% of the time. Generally, travel will be out on a Monday and back on a Friday. The role will supply and carry out the installation and commissioning of Security / Fire and life safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out 1st and 2nd fixing across a range of systems
- Work both on your own and as part of a team
- Support supervisors and management as necessary
- Help train other team members
- Take ownership of tasks and complete in line with our clients schedule
- Treat and communicate with clients informatively and effectively
- Comply with our client’s procedures and documentation at all times
- Undertake training as and when necessary
- Work away from home when required (approx. 50%)
- Other duties as necessary
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in Fire and Security across multiple systems including, but not limited to, Gent, Notifier, Morley, Kentec, Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, Salto, Samsung and others
- Good oral and written skills as well as being able to comprehend and understand technical training
- Ability to work at heights
- Methodical approach
- Be able to demonstrate responsibility of a task for the duration
- Be able to question current working practices and suggest alternatives when necessary
- Be able to establish solid working relationships
- Be commercially aware
Job Knowledge and Education:
- Ability to run with a job from start to completion, including pre-commissioning
- Identify and work competently on all components of a fire and or security system
- Be able to identify the differences between grades of cable and devices and their intended uses
- Use of specialist test equipment
- Relevant industry or equivalent industry qualifications
- Hold or be willing to obtain relevant industry qualifications
- C&G 2360 Part 1 and 2 and / or NVQ Level 2 and 3 (or equivalent) preferable
- Relevant manufacturers course
