EY38 Health & Safety Officer
Location: London
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 DOE
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To complete accident and incident investigations.
- To complete weekly toolbox talks for operational staff.
- To provide internal H&S training to office staff.
- To complete new starter SHEQ Inductions.
- To complete risk assessments and method statements as necessary.
- To support the project team on any H&S matters as necessary.
- To produce documentation for our project sites: CPP, RAMS, Site Inductions, Fire Plans,
- Traffic Management Plans.
- Read and review asbestos registers / surveys and provide advice and guidance on safe working practices.
- Complete COSHH Assessments and review products to see if the company can source an environmentally friendly alternative.
- Complete COSHH, Noise & Vibration monitoring as required.
- Complete site inspections.
- Complete site safety reports on unsafe working conditions.
- Complete onsite subcontractor compliance audits.
- Produce monthly SHEQ Reports for all clients.
- Assist in producing company policies and procedures.
- Promote and train a positive health and safety, quality and environmental culture within the business.
- Issue permits to work and the required supporting health and safety documentation i.e. emergency plans
Skills and Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- And/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- 3 years + experience working in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Practical and business minded approach.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Integrity and professional ethics.
Desirable:
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Internal Auditor training.
- NEBOSH Diploma In Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- P405 Asbestos Management In Buildings.
- Member of IOSH.
