Duties and Responsibilities:
- Play a fundamental role in developing, negotiating, agreeing and implementing new service contracts for both Municipal Collection and Streetscene initiatives.
- Along with traditional waste management contracts, the Streetscene scheme assists local authorities with everything from grounds and highways maintenance to beach cleansing.
- Communicate with stakeholders to negotiate contracts and/or extensions to contracts, liaising with an array of managers and other departments.
- Delivering the development plan.
- Preparing, submitting and presenting project development reports.
- Establishing and developing a formal industry network of interested groups.
- Ensuring staff are fully trained and motivated.
Skills and Experience:
- A proven track record in a senior management role in a profit centre of at least £5m turnover.
- Experience in an organisation with a professional and disciplined approach to business/project development within a Waste Management environment.
- Considerable experience in the successful delivery of business/project development programmes, to time, budget and specification; preferably in the waste industry.
- Suitable qualifications and experience in the application of sound project development and project management techniques.
- Commercial awareness with strong profit orientation.
- Numeracy and financial acumen.
- Strong people skills with the capability to develop and motivate a widespread and multi-disciplined team.
