Location: Blackburn
Salary: £23,000 to £28,000
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electronics Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment including variable speed drives, PLCs, touch screen HMIs and power supplies.
- Diagnose and repair units down to component level.
- Working with and without the aid of schematics.
- Soldering and reworking components (SMD and thru-hole).
- Creating and following test procedures.
- Using problem solving skills to find a logical approach to testing and fault finding.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good IT skills.
- Able to demonstrate an analytical approach to fault finding.
- Good hand soldering skills, using soldering irons and hot air rework stations.
- Experience with fault finding and repairing to component level essential.
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role repairing industrial or consumer electronic devices.
- Experience using test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Qualified to at least ONC level or equivalent in electronics/electrical engineering.
- Preferred candidates will have experience with industrial automation equipment, including HMI’s, PLC’s, AC and DC drives.
