JB9: CNC Programmer

Location: Sutton

Salary: £26,700 – £31,600

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a CNC Programmer on behalf of one of our clients.

As CNC Programmer you will be responsible for organising the daily workflow utilisations and capacities through the aluminium CNC Saw, Linear and Bulk milling machines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and work to Engineering drawings, which includes liaising with Production Engineering and Design teams.
  • Programming & operating CNC machines.
  • You will be familiar with ERP functionality and be able to schedule & allocate job orders.
  • Organising & scheduling the daily production job orders to achieve optimum capacity output.
  • Assign & scheduled daily SS & preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Prioritise red flag cards & jobs on hold t-cards.
  • Manage Operational Visual Display information for Performance, Delivery & Quality and implement corrective actions.
  • New product programming & existing optimisation of standard product programs.
  • Opportunity to lead & supervise the team for the right candidate. This will include monitoring the team’s performance through KPls to make sure the team is achieving output targets, general supervisory/ management of CNC operators (>5 employees), conduct staff appraisals, and promote teamwork / continuous improvement & lean culture.
  • In this role, you may be required to support and lead projects through continuous improvement and lean developments in the Primary Department.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Machine: Hurco; Programming Software: Heidenhain Conversational.
  • Machines: 3 axis Mecal; Programming Software: Generic Language.
  • Jig design for best practice machining applications.
  • Must work in an organised & structured manner.
  • Knowledge & understanding of ERP system functionalities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Adapts to & implements change.
  • Manages standard procedures and processes (eg, SS, Work Instructions, Quality).
  • For the right candidate, this could be a supervisory role, leading the team of operators. For this, we would require someone with circa 3 years’ experience in managing and supporting a team.
