EJ556 – Warehouse Operations Manager 

Salary: £25,000 – remuneration reviewed at 6 month period

Location: Skelmersdale

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager for our client based in Skelmersdale.

As the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the warehouse, the personnel and logistical operations in such a way that supports the needs of the business, health and safety, deliveries in and out of the warehouse, work allocation and the quality of the work carried out. The role will be based on both the warehouse floor and is a very hands on role.

Our client feels this role would suit candidates with military background and encourages applications from former service personnel, however applicants will be considered. 

Duties and responsibilities:

Recruitment & Training

  • Identifying staff training and development needs  
  • Planning, organising and overseeing appropriate training  

Quality Control:

  • Picking accuracy (Checking a percentage of orders), 
  • Pallet presentation (cleanliness, toppers, corners correct labels etc)
  • Investigate and action any picking errors.

Performance Management: 

  • Work together with MD to plan, monitor and review warehouse KPIs
  • Coaching and reviewing staff performance 
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Implement performance discussion plans – carry out initial (stage 1/2) conversations.   

Health & Safety

  • Oversee and maintain all H&S within the warehouse
  • Identify and Implement and areas for improvement

Stock Control:

  • Liaise with MD to identify & maintain a more stringent stock management system. 
  • Weekly/periodic stock checks

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in warehouse principles and managing a warehouse and the people in it. 
  • Ability to maintain discipline in a busy demanding environment, ensuring concurrent activity is normal practice. 
  • Relevant experience delivering measurable results.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of people.
  • Articulate
