EJ565 – UPS Product Engineer 

Location: South East  

Salary:  £Competitive + Company Car    

Overview:

The purpose of the Product Engineer role is to provide Technical support to internal departments (Sales, Projects, Service & Warehouse) as well as Contractors and Customers on all products sold by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical support to the Sales, Projects, Service, Warehouse functions as well as customers and contractors
  • To work with the Operations, Projects and Service Managers to devise training strategy/content (training delivered by the Test Technician)
  • Customising User Manuals and creation of other customer support documentation. · Technical approval of electrical drawings (Projects)
  • Create switching procedures for the Projects Department
  • Writing test procedures 
  • Writing set up guides
  • Create engineer work instructions for the Installation and Service departments
  • Attending site meetings with the Sales and Operations teams, providing product information, technical assistance, training and general support.  
  • Supporting the sales team in the understanding of specifications and drawings to ensure we specify a solution that meets the customer’s needs. 
  • To be the main point of contact with clients in Italy in regards technical queries, support, new product releases, revisions, warranty issues and the upcoming withdrawal of products and support.  
  • Liaison with suppliers to obtain product information as required.
  • Sharing of technical problems/solutions with the sales and operations teams (as appropriate) to avoid duplication of problems and shared learning. 
  • Ensuring that equipment purchased and specified by the company meets legislative requirements (British Standards, Health and Safety etc) 
  • Attending supplier training sessions as required
  • Any other duties tasks/duties in line with the requirements of the business

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Electrical or Electronics at ONC / BNC or equivalent level Electrical or Electronics at degree/ HNC / equivalent level
  • Extensive experience as a UPS engineer (ideally as a senior engineer) carrying out commissioning and Service works (PPM, repairs and remedial works). Experience on UPS and Switchgear is desirable but not essential
  • A good understanding of electrical systems and principals. The successful candidate must be able to understand electrical schematics, identifying potential issues and make recommendations. Travel abroad may be required.
