Location: Telford

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000


First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Transport Manager on behalf of one of our clients. The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday between 07:00 – 17:00.

This opportunity would suit candidates who have experience of being in the military, they therefore encourage application from ex-service personnel, however all applications will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of operations and vehicle fleet (37 vehicles and 25 trailers).
  • Identify and effectively solve any operational issues.
  • Managing operational performance utilising available reporting tools.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Identifies training needs through performance reviews.
  • Recommend improvements to working practices.
  • Ensure all work activity is planned, organised and carried out as agreed.
  • Provide technical expertise when needed.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure the highest customer service standards.
  • Take responsibility for your own health and safety and adhere to all the Company health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Ensure that method statements and risk assessments are current and compliant.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Demonstrable planning and organisation experience.
  • CPC is required.
  • Competent IT user, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workloads.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work to a budget.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to manage and work within a team.
  • Organisation and planning experience.
  • Proven customer service skills.
