AL531: Stores Controller

Location: Tidworth and Bulford

Salary: £25,500 per Annum

Overview:  

First Military Recruitment is looking for a Stores Co-Ordinator in the Tidworth and Bulford areas.

Responsible for the supervision and organisation of the stores to maximize productivity and efficiency, ensuring effective communication between the stores and maintenance team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the store and staff and its service delivery to customers.
  • Ensuring the smooth supply of parts, FF&E and loan equipment to maintenance teams that meet contractual response times.
  • Ensuring effective two-way communication between the estate’s stores team and the estates maintenance team.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and supervision of stock taking and van stock checks.
  • Responsible for the management of controlled substances hazardous to health (COSHH) including the production of correct and in date supporting documentation.
  • Undertake 1-2-1’s, PDR’s, training and approve absence for storekeepers.
  • Manage and undertake the process of sourcing and ordering non catalogue parts through the no part order process.
  • Manage the receipt and issuing of goods, stock control, checks and dispatching.
  • Co-ordinate goods out to engineers in accordance with the Company’s processes and procedures.
  • Organise the stock layout efficiently and safely.
  • Issue and receipt all loan tools and equipment to DEL on request ensuring they have received the appropriate training and are authorised to do so.
  • Ensure all relevant risk assessments are kept up to date and that your direct reports fully understand them, highlighting nay changes required to the stores and logistics manager.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents & near misses are reported to the helpdesk whilst ensuring that line management are aware.
  • Investigate and implement lessons learned from any incidents or accidents within the department.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English.
  • Clean valid (UK) driving licence.
  • IOSH managing safely.
  • NVQ 2 in distribution and warehousing operations or equivalent.
  • Suitable experience of line management/ team leader.
  • A good understanding of inventory, warehousing and stock procurement procedures.
  • Proven ability to work to targets and deadlines.
  • Suitable experience in a customer service role.
  • Experience working within a PFI environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFS.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • A dynamic individual with a “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to lead inspire and motivate a team to meet objectives.
  • Commercially aware with good negotiating skills.
  • Excellent client facing skills with the confidence to deal with people at all levels.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent communication, administration and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to deal with change.
  • Ability to undertake tasks that involve manual handling activities.
  • A proven working knowledge of all MS office programmes.
