EJ594 – Service Engineer (International Travel)
Location: Carlisle
Salary: Up to £40,000 (OTE £50K+)
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will need to be willing to travel and work globally as 85% of travel will be abroad.
Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver service work on full lines except printers to include initial inspection, maintenance, start up, commissioning upgrades and conversions.
- Once a customer enquiry has been specified, identify the technical requirements to ensure that the customer expectations are met.
- Work with the customer to make sure that they order the correct equipment.
- To aid and assist customers with cost saving value engineering exercises.
- Design a Project plan for all work to be completed.
- Liaise with spares department to order required equipment and ensure it is delivered on time.
- Develop the cost budget to include income against expenditure.
- Help as part of a team, the format and usage of Sharepoint.
- Working on customer queries, problems solve to help with correction of faults, improvements in techniques or reverse engineering.
- Transfer of information from Engineering drawings in to manufacture.
- Reporting of any relevant information to the Service Manager.
- Fabrication of parts required.
- Carry out any duties at or below qualification.
- Carry out any reasonable work request.
- To comply with all current Health and Safety Legislation.
- Train customers on the machine setting and maintenance.
- Working with the Spares team, help to promote Sales of Spares components and deal face to face with customers.
Skills and Qualifications:
- City and Guilds Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 + Years in production and projects.
- Time served 4 year Apprenticeship in Mechanical Maintenance.
- Capable of understanding full Engineering drawings.
- Computer literate.
- Willingness to travel and work globally as 85% of travel will be abroad.
- Qualified 2 piece canmaker is desirable.
- Qualified 3 piece canmaker is desirable.
- To have cultural awareness of Asia, Europe and Africa and The Middle East.
- Operate various can & end Machines through the process.
- Re-set machines to manufacturers specifications.
- Strip and rebuild various components and machines.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Valid worldwide passport.
- The ability to work in a systematic, thorough and precise manner is necessary to maintain accurate records.
- A high level of customer service and interpersonal skill is essential.
- Working to tight deadlines.
- An ability to manage time efficiently.
- Willingness to share knowledge and work co-operatively.
- Able to work independently without close supervision.
- Build confidence and pride, both internally and externally through positive attitude.
