Location – Manchester (with travel)

Salary ££45-£55K DOE + £400 car allowance

Type – Permanent- Full-time

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join out client in Manchester. The successful candidate will be educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction related subject. You will need a willingness to travel and have demonstrable commercial experience?

The Role:

You will work for a global multi-technical solutions provider who puts their employee’s development and progression at the front of our business plans.

The post-holder will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures, to minimise costs and enhance value for money, while ensuring the required standards and quality are maintained. You will have an awareness of the commercial market with the ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in engineering construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operational team in the commercial processes to ensure achievement of turnover and profit targets, profitable contracts, and sound cash flow performance.
  • Manage risk to improve cost predictability
  • Ensure all work at every stage of a project is completed on time, within budget and to the correct standard
  • Maximise project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting
  • Drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Drive Company Commercial Process within the team

Key Skills:

  • Educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction-related subject
  • Demonstrable commercial experience
  • Mechanical & Electrical quantity surveying experience in a building services background
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • IT Literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office
  • System experience – CPA, Coins or similar
  • Ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in engineering construction industry
  • Sound understanding of the implications of Health and Safety regulations
