FC6 – Ride Fitter
Location – Brighton Palace Pier
Salary – £32,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client, to recruit a Ride Fitter to join their team in Brighton. The Ride Fitter will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the multiple funfair rides on site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To repair and maintain all rides to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • To always ensure customer safety.
  • To inspect all rides as called for in the Daily, Weekly and Monthly Checklists when requested by the Chief Engineer.
  • To make sure that all Lubrication required for each ride is correctly done as called for in the lubrication schedule.
  • To ensure that the parts required for each ride that is worked on are requested from the Chief Engineer.
  • To comply with Health and Safety regulations and to be aware of the safety of others working in the vicinity.
  • Follow all safety training, working at height, PPE, lifting, ladders etc.
  • To arrive at work at least 10 minutes before your shift begins.
  • To perform any additional roles reasonably requested by management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Proficient using a wide range of tools etc
  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 20 metres and carry out hard physical labour.
  • Suitable written/numerical skills as record keeping is an important part of this safety critical role.
  • The candidate must provide all tools required to do the work requested. However, the company will provide specialized tools that may be required when working on a specific ride as specified by the manufacturer.

In return our client offers:

  • A working week of 45 hours, which presently consists of working ‘7-on, 2-off’, then ‘3-on, 2-off’.
  • A salary of £32,000. 
  • Annual holiday entitlement of 28 days.
  • Specified Training Modules provided.
  • Work clothes such as coveralls, work boots, rain gear, any safety equipment required, and winter coats will be provided.
