LT23 – Project Manager (Communications)

Location: Widnes

Salary: £40,000 per annum


First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Project Manager (Communications) on behalf of one of our clients.

To successfully plan, control and implement projects in accordance with the business objects and maintain profitability, quality and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Project Manager (Communications):

  • Define the project scope and plan.
  • Produce project documentation pre and post implementation.
  • Liaise with Operations Manager to allocate engineering and technical resources to the projects.
  • Manage the stakeholders and external dependencies on a daily basis to ensure projects remain on path.
  • Identify and manage critical path items, ensuring appropriate escalation as needed.
  • Manage junior members of the project team and provide mentoring to improve project deliverables.
  • Direct responsibility for creation and presentation of internal and external reports and delivery updates.
  • Manage any change requests or additions to the scope of works as set out in the contract.
  • Ensure customer handover documentation is provided within SLA and ATi’s are received from the customer in accordance within the timescales as defined in the contract.
  • Obtain customer approval for additional cost requests including documentation, recording and the creation of purchase requisitions.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and delivered within budget.
  • Maintain ownership of the financial management of the project, from initial PO through to payment of every task.
  • Monitor and maintain SLA’s/KPi’s as defined by the customer.
  • Primary point of contact with the customer’s implementation team.
  • Identify potential opportunities for the sales team from existing customers and liaise with sales.
  • Ensure all supervised personnel are working in compliance to Health & Safety Policy.
  • Take care of their own safety and that of others
  • Ensure that products, plant, equipment, vehicles and buildings are not damaged.
  • Will not neglect, misuse, damage anything provided in the interest of health and safety.
  • Ensure Sub contractors are qualified and have the appropriate documentation for the project.
  • Ensure all operations are supported by a defined procedural practice that will be able to demonstrate compliance to the objective of Quality Policy.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • MS Office including MS Project & Access.
  • Excel advanced user.
  • SAP.
  • Prince 2.
  • PMP.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Commercially and financially aware.
  • Written and oral English qualifications.
  • Customer focus.
  • A working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Time management.
  • Deployment of radio equipment.
