EJ623 – Medical Equipment Technician

Location: Warwick

Salary: £26,000 increasing to £27,000 after probation and £1000 annual bonus

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an On-Site Endoscopic Specialist on behalf of one of our clients.

To improve quality by ensuring that Company equipment is always available and fully functional, training all levels of staff as required, implementing quality improvements and continuously assure the highest standards are maintained in all services.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To attend the facility at agreed times to facilitate Client support in all areas of the customer’s facility as directed.
  • The day to day management of various assets in one or multiple customer facilities.
  • Provide client support in clinical areas to promote equipment functionality and use, enabling staff to concentrate on clinical care of patients.
  • Training and education of devices and/or services in client locations as determined by the facility requirements.
  • Completion of weekly and quarterly reports alongside supporting documents as required.
  • Tasks and duties agreed to be of mutual benefit by both Company and the authorised representative of the facility.
  • Camera system set-up and support.
  • Inspection, troubleshooting, and replacement of devices.
  • Inspection, troubleshooting, and replacement of rigid and flexible endoscopes and associated instrumentation.
  • Optimise functionality of equipment used in the facility by providing real-time clinical support.
  • Facilitating data management and storage requests in accordance with Authority and procedures.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance of all contracted equipment.
  • Facilitating repair/ exchange transactions and loan equipment movement.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of both patient care and business matters, by assuring that any confidential information is not shared or discussed except as required in the performance of required duties in accordance with Company and facility guidelines.
  • Attend all periodic and ad hoc meetings with the medical facility representative, medical and administrative staff employed by or on behalf of the facility.
  • Maintain technical competency through regular and frequent attendance at appropriate courses as agreed with line manager.
  • Ensure that COSHH, HTM, and all applicable Health & Safety standards and requirements are met.
  • Ensure that the performance of the services is ISO13485 compliant.
  • Awareness and compliance with local medical facility policies relevant to their activities.
  • Carry out any ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by Team Leader or Operations Manager.
  • This role will not involve regular travel and time away from home.
  • This role will involve Manual Handling on a daily basis.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • You have a duty of care for yourself and your colleagues under the Company’s Health and Safety policy.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant Policies and Procedures and internal standards.
  • Ensure the Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management Systems achieve their desired results.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in a healthcare environment (desirable).
  • NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Healthcare, Nursing qualification (desirable).
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to concentrate on tasks, think independently, use sound judgement, prioritise, make quick decisions and problem solve.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels effectively and work independently on assignments.
  • Polite and courteous manner regardless of the situation.
  • Good English in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and reporting systems.
