EY82 Mechanical Fixed Plant Technician
Location: Bristol
Salary: £37,700 per annum + benefits & overtime
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting one of our established and expanding businesses in the search for a Mechanical Fixed Plant Technician.
The role is to maintain ship-to-shore cranes and fully automated bulk handling systems in order to maximise operation availability for ship loading/unloading activities.
Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete planned, corrective and reactive maintenance work in a number of different environments.
- Liaise with operations to prioritise rectification of unserviceable machinery using fault finding diagnostic methodologies and equipment, minimising reactive maintenance.
- Ensure completion of documentation including daily logs and maintenance work orders.
- Carry out duties with due care and attention, adhering to the companies Health & Safety Policy and HSE regulations.
- Upholding the highest standards and practices in mechanical work.
- Demonstrating commitment to multi-skilled activity and teamwork.
- Demonstrating an excellent attitude to continuous improvement in culture, bringing new ideas to the team to enable smarter working, rather than harder working.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to commit to a range of shifts including regular weekends and paid overtime.
- The minimum qualification for the role is NVQ3 in a relevant discipline.
- Preferably qualified to HNC level in a suitable Engineering subject or equivalent qualification, or be a time served apprentice in a relevant trade.
- Previous experience working with large gearboxes, couplings, motors and conveyor belting systems.
- Ability to work with Computer Maintenance Management Systems via handheld tablets.
- Microsoft Teams.
- EngTech accredited.
- A full driving licence and your own transport are essential.
