EY41 Maintenance Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £38,000 per year
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out Mechanical & Electrical repairs and servicing on all plant and equipment. The role is inclusive of reactive and planned maintenance.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs as directed by the by the Production Manager to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- Assist the Production Manager with annual service planning as and when required.
- All work to be carried out in line with relevant HSE and regulatory requirements (i.e.18th edition).
- Electrical Installations to be carried out in line with national standards and relevant test certificates produced.
- Liaise with and assist specialist contractor’s as and when required on routine and preventative maintenance activities.
- Carry out period testing on emergency lighting and thermal imaging of distribution boards.
- Assist specialist contractors during annual servicing as and when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold a recognised electrical qualification.
- Be trained to 18th edition installation requirements.
- Have completed FLT – MEWP – Ladder – Scaffold training.
- Competent in Mechanical & Electrical repairs and demonstrate a successful track record in maintenance work.
- Must be a methodical thinker with an eye for detail.
- Good communicator with an ability to work as part of a team.
- Takes initiative, is self-directed.
- Will seek out answers to required information and make rational decisions.
- Able to develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development and share expertise and knowledge with others.
- Well organised with the ability to plan short/long term as well as reacting to immediate issues.
