Location: North Acton, London

Salary: Up to £40,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Logistics Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

As Logistics Manager you will provide strong leadership for the warehouse and distribution operation with the emphasis on ensuring that the warehouse operates to the highest standards in terms of accuracy, productivity and efficiency.

This role would suit ex-military personnel however candidates from all backgrounds will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Lead and supervise the warehouse team of [seven]. Recruit, train, develop and address under performance.
  •  Review, develop and document warehouse policies, processes and procedures to fit with the systems and future requirements of the business – and enforce rigidly.
  •  Develop measurable KPIs for productivity and efficiency. 
  •  Ensure merchandise is treated with care and concern to prevent damage and loss.
  •  Prioritise workloads and maximise use of resources.
  •  Manage daily operations of the warehouse, including fulfilment, shipping and receiving, returns, transfers and housekeeping.
  •  Ensure all store and online orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  •  Manage inventory accuracy, availability and security with regular stock counts (coordinated with Merchandising).
  •  Ensure that all stock receipts are scanned in to the warehouse accurately and put away on a timely basis.
  •  Review store delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfilment whilst minimising resources and cost.
  •  Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner according to Health & Safety legislation and training.
  •  Ensure all staff are trained in Health & Safety, including refresher training.
  •  Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and correctly before leaving for daily deliveries on time.
  •  Ensure weekly vehicle checks and cleaning are carried out and documented.
  •  Review warehouse layout to promote efficiency, maximise space utilisation and security of stock.
  •  Assist forward planning and explore opportunities for continuous improvement.
  •  In addition to the duties above, reasonable additional duties will be requested in order to meet our business needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  •  Previous experience in warehouse/Logistics management is essential. 
  •  Good communication skills and a strong, open and constructive personality. 
  •  Must be willing to work in a hands on environment due to the nature of the role.
  •  Computer literate.
  •  Working knowledge/ qualification in Health & Safety.
  •  Previous experience of stock control, administration and customer service is desirable.
