EJ673 – Logistics Compliance Manager    

Location: Leeds/North East  

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + company car + bonus

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are recruiting for a Logistics Compliance Manager for our nationwide client.

The primary responsibility of the Logistics Compliance Manager is to ensure each Aggs, Asphalt & RMX haulier is carrying-out the legal, safety and environmental requirements of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Haulier, Vehicle and Driver auditing, to agreed frequency, including entry onto the appropriate systems, and follow-up with the relevant haulier where findings fall short of required standards.
  • In the role of a FORS auditor, complete FORS audits as required, including necessary follow-up.
  • Work with the regional Logistics Manager on Supplier Appraisal items to continuously improve to performance of hauliers in all areas.
  • Supporting businesses with robust haulier complaint (e.g. customer, quality, member of public) investigation as necessary.
  • Support and encourage hauliers to develop a proactive approach to safety management.
  • Delivery & management of logistics-related safety campaigns, including proactive use of telematics.
  • Liaise with hauliers to ensure proactive incident investigation.
  • Supporting businesses with robust haulier incident investigation, as necessary.
  • Haulier & driver rehabilitation post incident.
  • New vehicle compliance and handover.
  • Day-to-day interaction with other functions, e.g. RCC’s, weighbridges, plants to continuously improve logistical elements, including complaints management.
  • Be visible at regional units within defined area, and accessible to site contacts & regional stakeholders.
  • All franchise, regular vehicle (both tippers and RMX) and allocated IUT / FO (Inter Unit Transfers / Fixed Outlets) hauliers achieve and maintain FORS Bronze as a minimum.
  • Twice yearly instruction to FR and RV hauliers (including RMX) to conduct vehicle QA audits on every vehicle servicing business.
  • 100% compliance to be achieved every 6 months.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Logistics professional
  • Certificate of Professional Competence
  • Operational Safety experience
  • LGV Class 1 licence (desirable)
  • Fleet Management experience (desirable)  
  • Geographical knowledge
  • Company structure, functions and relevant policies and procedures (desirable)
  • Interpersonal skills
