Location: Dover

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday, 0830-1730

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an International Planning Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the FTL Fleet Department to ensure a high level of service to all customers throughout the UK and Europe.
  • Oversee the training of new staff members to ensure they progress to the required level of expertise.
  • Profit & Loss responsibility for the Fleet Department.
  • Commercial awareness of European Export and Import pricing to complete UK customer and Group tenders and provide ad hoc pricing based on Fleet costings.
  • Management and monitoring of Fleet performance providing weekly reports to Planners and Senior Management.
  • Supervision and control of all aspects of the daily operation of a busy FTL Fleet department to ensure that collection and deliveries are carried out as per customers instructions.
  • Timely and effective communication between office, customers, sub-contractors and drivers and any other parties involved in the process.
  • Using own initiative to make decisions relevant to your area of control.
  • Holiday and Sickness Cover to be provided for the Planning Desks when required.
  • General administration.
  • Commercial representation.

  • Adhere to company rules, policies and procedures constantly and encourage others to do the same.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation impacting on your role where required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that confidentiality is applied where appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience.
  • Able to communicate in another European language would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Able to compile and collate data.
  • Proven experience in a people facing role.
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience of leading a team &/or working towards a Level 3 Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Solution-oriented.
  • Able to support, motivate and coach staff to maximise individual and team performance.
  • Competent in using own initiative and maximise resources to source effective solutions.
  • Capable in working to fluid targets and deadlines.
  • Proven verbal, written, mathematical and communication skills.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and able to deal with difficult customer conversations/or internal stakeholder demands.
  • Willing to undertake training that may be required for the role.

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday, 0830-1730
