Salary: £39,000 – £47,000
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Integration Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. This role requires extensive travel and will be 70% field based and 30% office based.
The job holder will provide engineering management of IP data networks to ensure cost effective, reliable systems that perform to customer requirements, and 3rd line technical support on a range of IP, networking and integration issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Add/Move/Change implementations on the Customer Elements (CE) network.
- Supporting third party suppliers and customers during fault diagnostics for system integration problems and providing technical guidance to identify resolutions.
- System integration planning and management. Working with internal and external component suppliers to generate system integration test and implementation plans.
- Implementation of strategic plans for integration and testing services, including the interpretation of the overall product performance to ensure system requirements are defined and met.
- Verification that control room services are ready for customer testing.
- Ensuring security integrity of the CE network.
- Providing technical guidance on the viability of integration proposals and their financial impact.
- Conducting feasibility analysis for interface development, configuration, testing and risk assessment.
- Management and implementation of integration delivery plans and schedule.
- Only undertake tasks for which they have sufficient competence, equipment and the other resources to complete the task safely.
- To utilise, protect and maintain any equipment or protective device supplied to complete the task in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with the procedures described in the safe system of work and any relevant risk assessments produced for the activity.
- Undertake suitable / sufficient on site risk assessments and, put in adequate control measures or raise with line manager.
- Report to line management any shortfall in safety precautions being implemented, or for any issues arising from the work being undertaken.
- In the case of serious and imminent danger, to stop the work at a suitable safe point and condition; reporting, as soon as is reasonably practicable, to others who may be affected by the unsafe situation.
- Report immediately (or when safe and practicable) any accident/incident or near miss incident.
- To ensure all Environmental initiatives and all Environmental policy and procedures are adhered to.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Cisco CCNP certification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications engineering environment.
- Excellent technical knowledge of IP networks / addressing and connection rules.
- Excellent technical knowledge of IP network fault diagnosis and applicable tools.
- Technical awareness and experience of designing, developing and/or implementing integration and testing methodologies, and resolution of sub-system integration issues with suppliers and customers.
- Excellent attention to detail and good, accurate numerical and logical skills.
- Understanding of software development and testing.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of TETRA and other mobile network technologies.
- Understanding of telephony systems.
- Understanding of IT data systems for storage and retrieval.
- Technical knowledge of company networks, and operation of the external interfaces used for integration of third party supplied IP equipment.
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles.
