JS303 – Head of Finance

Location:  Bury St. Edmunds

Package: £75,000 – £85,000 + Bonus

Overview : 

First Military Executive Recruitment are pleased to be supporting one of our clients in the recruitment for a Head of Finance for the UK operation. 

The Head of Finance will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The primary function of the role is the responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. The role will also act as an Operational Management role supporting the wider business units based in the UK. 

This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, KPI analysis, property and IT management as well as staff responsibilities.    

In addition, the role requires effective management, development and delivery of the key strategic UK Business Finance and HR operations in compliance with regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Ensures credibility of accounting group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Takes hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
  • Directs and oversees all aspects of the accounting functions of the organization.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Provides senior management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manages processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the headquarter.
  • Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professionally qualified (ACA – Advanced or ACCA – Professional or CIMA – Diploma or Strategic level).
  • Advanced skills in SAP is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills.
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Willingness to travel.
