Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Facilities Manager for an exciting new role based in Ealing. The successful candidate will be responsible for is responsible for the day-to-day management of the maintenance team, site control of contractors on service contracts, routine and cyclical maintenance matters, minor projects and working with the Bursar on major capital projects; also for ensuring that all Health & Safety requirements of the site are complete, up to date and in compliance with current relevant regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for all issues related to the fabric of the school buildings and the facilities and services within them
  •  Managing maintenance throughout the school; drawing up and supervising maintenance and decorating schedules, including cyclical maintenance for all plant and equipment; maintaining and updating all relevant records and test certificates for plant and equipment; organising day- to- day maintenance, removals and emergency repairs
  • Managing and overseeing the work of the school’s maintenance staff and day-to-day troubleshooting of facilities issues
  • Managing and overseeing the work of the school’s cleaning staff
  • Liaising with all relevant staff to ensure set up for events is organised in advance, instructing maintenance team on requirements
  • Ensuring that the school and other venues are unlocked and unalarmed/locked and alarmed
  • as required
  • Act as the school’s Health and Safety Officer, in accordance with its Health and Safety
  • Policy and in consultation with the Bursar and Headmaster Chair and manage the Health and Safety Committee meetings Keep up to date with Independent School Inspectorate, Government, HSE and other Regulatory Requirements
  • Ensure all relevant documentation and log books are maintained accurately and up to date Ensure that annual portable appliances testing and five year fixed wire testing are carried out.
  • Ensure annual/monthly/weekly testing/servicing of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, call points and emergency lights is carried out

Skills and Qualification:

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within technical operations, solutions and standards (FM or related industry).
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Standards and Best Practices.
  • Previous experience of managing multi-discipline technical teams across different locations.
  • Flexibility may be required within your working hours to accommodate operations.
  • Ability to provide services to the highest specification.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
