MR27: Commissioning & Technical Support Engineer

Location: St Helens

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Commissioning & Technical Support Engineer to join our St Helen based client.

Our client is a leader in supply of specialist Fire Fighting and Fire Suppression equipment and systems, they operate in industrial markets associated with petrochemical storage & production sites, warehouses, Recycling Plants, Power Stations and areas where flammable products are stored or processed.

The role is a 50:50 mixture of planned commissioning/site testing, trouble-shooting call outs and routine customer service visits whilst providing a continuity of technical support within a team. The Company wishes to provide high quality Customer liaison by building a technical support structure and providing knowledge and experience to colleagues and customers. This role requires you to be responsible for Factory and Site acceptance testing of products such as Water Cannons, Water Pump modules, Foam Cannon systems in Waste to Energy Plants and Oil Refineries. Due to the areas covered, this role will involve some stays away from home.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing high level and detailed Technical Support of the Company’s products & systems.
  • Providing accurate and on time documents such as site reports with remedial actions and recommendations.
  • Liaising with Service Department colleagues to provide a team approach for customer support.
  • Attending various sites throughout the country to maintain customer relations on such sites as Petrochemical, Warehousing, Waste to Energy, Power Stations and Airports.
  • Contributing to the collective technical team.
  • Carry out tasks in the workshop as required.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Driving Licence
  • Computer Literacy 
  • Acceptance of requirements to work away from home and or be workshop based when required.
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background, ideally time served. 
  • Willingness to work to extended and unpredictable hours, including occasional weekends.
  • Good customer skills, good telephone and face to face manner.
  • Reliable, dependable with positive outlook on responsibility.
  • Good communicator to customers and colleagues.

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000
