First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Business Manager on behalf of our client.

The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for order achievement, market analysis, country strategies, customer management, bid assessment and tender proposals, contractual negotiations, product requirement specification, and introduction of new products to the market place.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing the business’s area of responsibility to grow market share. 
  • Carrying out market assessments and defining country strategies. 
  • Analysing markets and competitors to support business growth understanding and communicating customers’ requirements. 
  • Conducting customer visits. 
  • Hosting or supporting customers’ visits to the company. 
  • Attending exhibitions, seminars and conferences to keep up to date on electronic warfare.
  • Organising attendance and stand displays at exhibitions.
  • Producing and delivering presentations at international conferences. 
  • Ensuring all communication is consistent with messages in proposition. 
  • Informing the business about relevant market information. 
  • Devising business cases to assist the company to decide on future direction. 
  • Identifying and recording in salesforce opportunities. 
  • Liaising with operations to manage customer expectations. 
  • Bringing in orders to meet the Forecast Order Budget in a timely manner.
  • Work with technology to bring new products to the market place.
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all activity. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of IR and RF countermeasures or operational experience in the contribution that countermeasures can make to the defence of platforms.
  • Technical background in a relevant field.
  • Familiar with military organisational structures, procedures and procurement processes (highly desirable).
  • Computer and presentation skills.
  • Experience of sales and marketing (highly desirable).
  • Familiar with Export Control Regulations for military products.
  • Familiar with using CRM software.
  • In-depth understanding of, and experience with, product range.
  • Able to prioritise and plan workload to suit the circumstances
  • Can respond to rapidly changing situations and adopt flexible working hours if required.
  • Able to work on own initiative most of the time and only refer to superior for decision making.
  • To travel, as required, to meet, present to and work with customers to achieve sales.
